As digital transformation strategies continue at a post-COVID speed, what happens if access to digitally delivered healthcare fails to reach the people who need it most? How do we ensure equality of access and therefore effective health impacts for a post Brexit, post COVID UK?
During this one hour seminar, innovative research team, Healthwave, will reveal the findings of a white paper, called Digital Inclusion in Healthcare.
Designed to inform and shape the strategies of healthcare professionals post COVID 19 the session is ideal for health and tech specialists who want to find out more about the emerging healthcare landscape and the session will offer them the opportunity to explore strategies and practical ways in which they can designs action around digital inclusion.
Dr Chris Archer-Brown, digital specialist, will join Healthwave's Oli Sleeman and Dr Rehan Symonds along with Rosie Atkin, from NHS Connected Nottinghamshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire's Integrated Care System's Digital Transformation Programme, to share findings and recent experiences of digital transformation in healthcare and address the question of how the COVID-19 global pandemic has become an ‘accelerator’ for digital transformation - bringing into sharp relief the ‘Digital Divide’ in society.

_"In healthcare, even when the vaccine is fully rolled out, the advantages for many of the virtual consultations with General Practitioners and even Hospital Specialists they have been ‘forced’ into, could outweigh those of face-to-face healthcare visits," says digital healthcare expert Chris Archer-Brown, who wrote the white paper for Healthwave.
- However, 10% of the UK population say they don’t use the internet. But 15% of 10% say they can’t use the internet. But 15% of 10% of the UK population is still more than 1m people. And we know that it’s 1m of the most disadvantaged and in many cases vulnerable among our society for whom digital inclusion is beyond their reach._
