Supporting Black African and Caribbean men living with prostate cancer
Meet Kassie, a real-life superhero in the Black Country, her mission: helping people living with cancer. More specifically, Kassie had been supporting Black African and Caribbean men and she was determined to make a difference in their lives. But how do you connect people with the right resources, especially in a complex healthcare world?
Imagine you've just been diagnosed with cancer. It's scary and confusing, and you have a million questions. This is where Kassie's challenge came in. She wanted to provide tailored information and tools. However, the healthcare system can feel like a maze, and finding the right resources can be overwhelming.
Kassie created a collection of resources around prostate cancer support for Black African and Caribbean men. A selection of resources from across the internet, including easy-to-follow videos, packaged up all in one place.
Creating tailored collections meant that Kassie could give people control of their health journey. Less time searching and more time acting on the support they needed. And that's not all – Kassie saved time by making these collections as well making it easier for people to get the information they needed.
In Kassie's own words: "A great hub to host a wide range of resources for not only the Community but all NHS Staff. This hub has been key as being our main resource platform for all of our Cancer information. Being able to share the resources in so many different formats is amazing.”
